I began making teddy bears 14 years ago. There were excellent patterns available, but then I attended workshops with various Australian and overseas bear artists to improve my workmanship. However, now my bear and soft toy repair service takes up most of my time.

I find the opportunity to restore a precious old friend a really challenging activity. Many grandparents-to-be ask me to attend to old toys which have belonged to their own children, and which they now want to pass on to the next generation.

As well as many bears, I have worked on a rabbit, 2 pandas, 2 monkeys, a cat, a lamb, a chicken, a seal, a dog, an elephant, a pig, a golly and "Woody", the character from "Toy Story." Dogs still present me with my most difficult assignments.
